Yahoo To Add Transparency For Advertisers

It’s what we’ve been asking for, for quite some time.  Thank you Yahoo! 

Expected to be available sometime early in Q1 2010, Yahoo search advertisers will be able to choose to receive traffic from Yahoo search, Yahoo Partners, or both.  Many advertisers, including myself, who watch the Yahoo partner traffic from our log files have long been awaiting the ability to run ads between Yahoo search and Yahoo partners independently or not at all. 

My experience with Yahoo overall as a marketing platform has been mediocre at best.  From month to month, I experience a yo-yo affect with profits and it makes it extremely difficult to manage a campaign with such volatility.  This new feature should have been released a long time ago, but here’s to hoping it can help us all manage a more profitable Yahoo campaign!

I should also mention, once this goes live all 3 big boy search engines will have offered this feature.  Yahoo is simply the last to join the party as is the case most of the time.  But since they are “given up on search” for the most part in the following year, it’s at no surprise.
